Warm Potato and Samphire Salad

I found myself in a strange position, with a carton of samphire in the fridge and no idea what to do with it. I've loved it whenever I have had it in restaurants, with its fresh, briny taste and snappy crunch, but when faced with cooking it myself, I didn't have a clue! Eventually, I came up with a simple warm, dressed salad that showcased all of the best elements of each ingredient - Pip

Porcini Risotto

After an outing to Carluccio's where I spent far too much time and money in the little shop attached to it, I came home with some lovely carnaroli rice, wafer thin dried poricini mushrooms and golden porcini oil. The ingredients were of such lovely quality that I didn't want to overcomplicate them, so I decided to go for a simple yet decadent risotto that really allows each component to shine - Pip

Parmesan Gougeres

So, I was looking for something to make as a birthday treat for someone who is not a fan of sweets - I know, what the Hell, right? It had to be savoury, but still feel decadant. What better than little choux pastry buns? They're simple, buttery and light, and are a great accompaniment to a birthday cocktail. Best of all, a small amount yeilds a pretty large batch, with these measurements making about thirty little bitesized buns. Winner! - Pip

Beef Burgers

Having been to a few gourmet burger joints, my standards have sky rocketed when it comes to burgers now. No flavourless, floppy McDonalds for me! Here is a basic, yet tasty recipe for the perfect beef burgers. Why not try with my Bacon Jam (recipe here), cheese, salad and maybe some homemade wedges!? - Bekki

Two Ingredient Breakfast Biscuits

Suitable for Vegans

Oh hai!

Guess who's back!

After what seems to have been an extremely lengthy hiatus, it's definitely time to get back into food blogging. A lot has changed over the last year which has been the reason for the sudden silence on our part.

I had to move away from Ipswich with my daughter back to my parents in Hampshire for a few months but am now living up north near Middlesbrough. That's a lot of shifting about in one year but I'm finally feeling settled.

Pippa has been very involved with a job at the Body Shop and is constantly being a busy bee so between the pair of us (and the fact we no longer get to see each other on a regular or even semi regular basis) there was no time for blogging.

But that's definitely about to change. I am now loving having my own kitchen again and have been getting into "clean eating" lately so you can expect some tasty yet non-guilt worthy goodies from me along with my typical filthy, dirty, smutty offering of cake, tarts and cheesecakes. Everyone needs a cheat day now and then right?!

I am hoping that Pippa will get in on the act and maybe a few of our friends too.. but for now, prepare for a few recipes to appear over the next day or two.

Ciao, Bekki x
